The City's garage on  Mount Read Boulevard is now staffed 24-hours in preparation for the winter weather, one week earlier than usual.

Eight crews are standing ready to salt and plow more than 550 miles of road in the City. The City has a good quantity of salt on hand, about two thousand tons. The City uses about 8000 tons of salt during a typical winter. Rochester starts planning for snow removal in August.
