P-MIDTOWNTUBACHRISTMAS2007-12-01-1196561568.jpgSaturday kicked off the last holiday celebration at Midtown Plaza in downtown Rochester before it is torn down to make way for Paetec's world headquarters.

The holiday celebration was bittersweet for some Rochesterians who have spent many a holiday at Midtown over the years.

Mayor Bob Duffy invited families to bring their photos of Midtown to a special tribute event on Saturday. Thousands gathered at the Plaza to share their memories of holidays past.

A holiday parade with Mayor Duffy and Rudolph, led by Prime Time Brass to the Liberty Pole capped off the event. Musical performances by area choirs and band ensembles will also take place at Midtown Plaza at Noon through Dec. 22.
