Unity Hospital campus to expand

UNITYEXPANSIONB2007-11-29-1196361661.jpgUnity Hospital in Greece is announcing the largest expansion in its history, since it took over Parkridge 32 years ago. The plan calls for an additional floor with 85 new rooms to the hospital itself, as well as renovating all existing rooms.


The facility's nursing home will also be replaced, through the construction of several "cottage style" residences. Unity says it makes sense amid the graying of the baby boomers, the oldest of which are now age 61.


Scheduled for completion in 2012, the expansion will cost 144 million dollars, 40 million of which Unity hopes to raise through private donations.
