Torrealba batted .255 with eight home runs and 47 RBI in 113 games last season for the Colorado Rockies. His deal with the Mets is reportedly for three years and $14.4 million.

Castro, who inked a two-year, $4.6 million deal, has played the last three seasons with the Mets since coming over from Florida. He is a career .234 hitter with 137 RBI.

"We are glad to have re-signed Ramon back," said Mets general manager Omar Minaya. "He has developed into the kind of hitter who you want to come up in clutch situations. In addition to what he brings on the field, Ramon is a tremendous presence in the clubhouse."

New York's regular catcher over the past two seasons, Paul Lo Duca, is currently a free agent.
