Early morning car chase

carchase2007-11-12-1194890483.jpgTwo people are being questioned in connection with an early morning police chase on the city's east side. The pursuit started around when police pulled over an SUV on

Portland Avenue
for an expired registration. When officers saw the driver didn't have a license, the SUV took off.


Police caught up with the vehicle at Empire Boulevard and

Culver Road
, when a woman jumped from the SUV. Officers finally stopped the vehicle about five minutes later at Wabash and Eighth streets. Officers arrested the driver 25-year-old Humberto Pantoja and charged him with multiple traffic violations.


Officers are still looking for the woman who jumped out of the SUV.
