Eeewww!!!! But, It's Another Bills Win

Rian Lindell hit a 34-yard field goal with 46 seconds left in the game, as the Buffalo Bills rallied in the fourth quarter to keep Miami winless with a 13-10 triumph at Dolphin Stadium. J.P. Losman passed for 157 yards on 12-of-23 completions and was picked off once for the Bills (5-4), who have won four in a row overall, and six of their last seven over Miami. Marshawn Lynch gained 61 yards and added a score on 19 carries, and Lee Evans led the receiving corps with 65 yards on four catches. Cleo Lemon completed 16-of-29 passes for 131 yards for the Dolphins (0-9), who are the only team in the NFL without a victory after previously-winless St. Louis topped New Orleans, 37-29. "Its tough, but weve got a lot of professionals in here and we will continue to work and play hard," said Lemon when asked if the losing skid has affected team morale. Jesse Chatman rushed 27 times for 124 yards and caught five balls for 25 yards in the loss, Miamis 12th consecutive defeat since a 21-0 win over New England on December 10, 2006. "Weve got a lot of confidence in him and have since hes been here," said Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron of his running back. "That just shows you how different each week can be. Weve got a lot of confidence in him and in the offensive line." Facing an eight-point deficit at the start of the fourth, Losman rallied his charges. He converted a 4th-and-1 from the Miami 24 on a keeper, and hit Michael Gaines for a 19-yard gain for a 1st-and-goal from the three. Lynch then carried a pair of defenders into the end zone for a touchdown, and rushed for the two-point conversion and a 10-10 game with 9:46 left in regulation. On the kickoff, Ted Ginns explosive 86-yard return was negated by a holding call, and the Dolphins, set up at their own 19-yard-line, eventually were stopped before they reached Bills territory. Roscoe Parrish returned the ensuing punt to midfield, and the Bills used a steady diet of Lynch to run down the clock and wear down the Dolphins defense. Lindell was eventually called on to give the Bills the lead, which he did by hitting from 34. "Roscoes punt return was huge, we had our backs against the wall there and we knew we were going to have to have a big drive there," said Losman. Miami started its final drive on its own 45, thanks to a nice return by Patrick Cobbs. Lemon began by completing a four-yard pass to Chatman. However, two incompletions were followed by Jabari Greer getting a hand to deflect away a pass intended for Marty Booker on fourth down, and Losman took a knee to close out the contest. "There is no such thing as an ugly win because it feels so good to win that football game," said Bills head coach Dick Jauron. "I give our guys a lot of credit. It wasnt our best game, thats for certain, but they stuck to it and they played hard. We played hard and we played 60 minutes, and it took all 60 minutes to beat them. This is their fifth loss by a field goal. Were just happy to win it." Miami got on the board on the first drive of the game, ending a nine-play, 56- yard drive with a 38-yard field goal by Jay Feely. Buffalo had a prime chance to get on the board with 3 1/2 minutes remaining in the half, but Losmans lob to the end zone intended for Evans was picked off by Will Allen. On the Bills first drive of the third quarter, Gaines slipped behind the Miami secondary but dropped a sure-fire touchdown pass. Buffalo settled for a punt which pinned the Dolphins at their own two. Chris Kelsay sacked Lemon in the end zone three plays later, and the Bills were on the board, 3-2. However, Losman came under fire from the Dolphins front line on the subsequent series, and Buffalo was forced to punt. Lemon kept the following drive alive when he picked up 10 yards on a 3rd-and-7 from the Bills 32. He then put Miami ahead by eight when he alertly scrambled to the right and rolled into the end zone on a 3rd-and-3 from the five. The score, coming on the last play of the third quarter, capped an 18-play, 80-yard drive which consumed almost 10 minutes and gave the home team a 10-2 advantage. Game Notes Despite the loss, Miami leads the all-time series, 49-33-1...Miami defensive end Jason Taylor left the game with a twisted ankle in the third quarter, but returned late in the fourth...The Dolphins controlled the ball for nearly 37 minutes in the contest, but the Bills had possession for nearly 9 1/2 minutes in the fourth quarter...Buffalo hosts New England next Sunday night, while Miami tries to avoid an 0-10 start at Philadelphia Sunday afternoon.
