jameswidenerbridge2007-11-09-1194650709.jpgJust days before Veteran's Day local leaders are honoring a Vietnam veteran who died in the line of duty. Friday, the Scottsville-Chili Road Bridge on State Route 386 was re-named the James E Widener Memorial Bridge.

Widener's Marine helicopter was shot down in Vietnam back in 1967. He was listed as MIA for 40 years. Last year his remains were positively identified.

Widener attended Churchville-Chili High School and enlisted into the Marines shortly after graduation.
