Price tag on city's new crime-fighting initiative

The city of Rochester is adding up the price tag of the Zero-Tolerance Initiative.
Mayor Duffy is asking city council to transfer $2.5 million from the city's contingency plan to help pay for the effort. The initiative began on October 5th, this means police officers are working longer shifts to patrol Rochester's toughest neighborhoods.
So far, police have spent $911,000. As a result, the city is on a hiring freeze and its cutting travel and training expenses.
