Man charged with running down officer while driving drunk is back in court today

The case of a Rochester man accused of running down a city police officer while drunk will be back in court today.
 
James Extale was originally sentenced to 21 years in prison but was able to appeal his DWI conviction. Police say Extale was drunk when he ran down police officer Nicole Cookinham.  She was standing near her patrol car on Galusha Street when it happened.
