wildfiresloclreax2007-10-24-1193235973.jpgFor parents Ron and Mickey Freida the California wildfires are hitting very close to home in Canandaigua. Their daughter Lynn is a freshman at Pepperdine University.

"Right now I think it's crazy, but everybody here has been very calm so I'm not really to worried about it,” said Lynn Freida. Lynn spoke to us late Tuesday afternoon from campus describing how close the fires came when she was evacuated from her dorm on Sunday.

"The whole cafeteria was really smoky and from all the windows all you could see was orange smoke and we all had to wear masks so we didn't get headaches or smoke inhalation,” she said.

"Some of the pictures she's shown us there is a whole mountain of flame behind one of their dorms,” said Ron Freida.
