UNDERSHERIFFOUT2007-10-22-1193091957.jpgThe Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is saying little about the resignation of Undersheriff Dan Greene, only saying it was for personal reasons.

Greene has been undersheriff for more than five years. As undersheriff he was second in command at the department, only behind Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn.

We’re told at this point his position has not been filled. It is likely the chief deputy in the department will take on some of Greene's responsibility in his absence. We tried unsuccessfully to reach Greene for comment.
