State police recognize this apparent escalation of violence against police officers and today, those concerns will be addressed. State Police Acting Superintendent Preston Felton will announce new safety measures for state police officers at a press conference at the NYS Police Academy.

Felton says the measures will in turn provide better and safer service to the public. This year, New York State Police are celebrating 90-years of service. State police are in the middle of an active recruitment campaign.
