Rochester police have arrested a Rochester teen in connection with Tuesday morning's hit-and-run accident that left a school crossing guard dead.

19-year-old Ricardo Torres has been charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident resulting in death.

Police found the car that hit the woman nearby on Felix Street within hours of the accident.

The guard, 58 year old Arlene Page of Rochester, was stationed at Bloss St. and Dewey Ave. near School No. 30 just before 9:00 a.m. That's when Page was hit.

Most of the students were inside the school at the time of the accident, but some may have seen the incident. Some students from School No. 43 who were on a bus at the time of the accident may also have witnessed the accident.

The Rochester City School District has sent Counselors from the District's crisis intervention team to both schools to provide counseling and talk about what happened.

Page was a grandmother of two kids in the Rochester City School District where she had been working since the mid 1980's.
