A student at Edison Tech is struck by a bus at dismissal Tuesday.

The 17 year old is an 11th grader at the School of Imaging & Information Technology.

Police say the boy was trying to catch the RTS bus, when the bus moved off the curb and collided with the teen.

The bus ran over his leg and ankle.  He was taken to the hospital where he is undergoing tests.

"School staff including the principal, athletic director, school nurse, and health center staff responded to the scene immediately and attended to this student while awaiting an ambulance. Their prompt response, caring, and support for him are commendable," said Rochester Interim Superintendent Bill Cala.
