The mayor of Webster has officially resigned.
Jack Judge announced his intentions to step down during a board meeting last Thursday. Monday morning, he submitted his resignation to the village clerk, Kathy Vendel, who tells News 8 she reluctantly accepted it.
Judge's
resignation comes after a year long dispute over missing personnel
files. Those missing files led to an investigation and thousands of
dollars in legal fees. In the end Judge unknowingly took the files home
himself and the investigation found no wrongdoing.
The resignation takes effect immediately. A special election will be held to fill the post.
