A teen from Leroy who had been missing for more than a week after taking off with a man she met online was found early this morning.
She was located in Perry County, Tennessee along with 20 year old Kevin Bartig with whom she had run away last Tuesday, following a tip to the New York State Missing and Exploited Children Clearinghouse.
Stapleton was found unharmed and is now in the custody of Tennessee Department of Children's Services until she can be reunited with her parents.
Bartig is being held on local charges in Tennessee.
Unbeknownst to her parents, Stapleton met Bartig, who is from Florida, on the Internet. Bartig traveled to LeRoy last week and after a fight with her parents, Stapleton ran away.
