RCSD_sign2007-09-25-1190740435.jpgThe Rochester City School District is expected to approve a groundbreaking policy regarding lead paint.

The new policy would require all school buildings to be lead safe. Right now, the district tests for lead before a construction or renovation project. All but five of the 52 schools in the district have lead paint.

The federal government outlawed the use of lead-based paint after 1978.
