Newark murder

A Newark man is charged in the murder of his wife.


Police say 23-year old Gregory Bessey called 9-1-1 Sunday night to say he strangled his wife, Sarah. Police say the two recently split up and it's believed she came to the house to get some personal items. The couple's two year old daughter was there at the time of the murder.


Bessey is facing second degree murder charges and is being held in the Wayne County jail.
