P-MOLOTOVONHAYWARD2007-09-20-1190336586.jpgRochester Police are stepping up patrols on the city's east side after a molotav cocktail thrown inside a home sparks a fight. They are still investigating who is behind the initial attack, but the family who was targeted says an alleged "snitching" incident is to blame.

"People just want to kill people and get it over with."

Brenda Carsquello says that's just what someone wanted when a molotav cocktail was thrown through her kitchen window on Hayward Avenue late Wednesday night.

"I'm upstairs in my room asleep and the next thing you know, I hear my mom screaming," Carsquello said.

The kitchen caught fire, but Carsquello, her mom and four young children made it out safely.

Carsquello says the fire bombing was no accident. She says it was an act of revenge. She says, although a member of Carsquello's family was accused by a neighbor of snitching to police, that person did no such thing. But she says whoever threw the molotav cocktail took revenge to the extreme.

"You're threatening an unborn child, other children, and you're threatening my mom's life."

More threats were made in front of the home Thursday morning. A fight broke out in the street just before noon. Police say they believe the firebombing and the fight appear to be connected, but they're still trying to get to the bottom of the situation. Until then, they've stepped up patrols and are trying to put a stop to what they say could be a potentially deadly situation in the neighborhood.
