Wednesday with shovel in hand. The new "Mayor Thomas P. Ryan, Jr. Community Center and Library" is part of renovation project at School 33. It is named after Rochester former mayor who served between 1974 and 1993.

"It will benefit other children and families. It will be about promoting education and a sense of community.  To have this 2 to 3 blocks from where John Ryan spent his life, is a great, great privilege," says Duffy.

The project cost 36.5 million dollars. Construction is scheduled to begin this spring.
