A well-known local family has announced it is buying a portion of Main Street in downtown Webster. Eric Bauman, creator of Ebaum’s World, has plans to redevelop the area in the midst of a building boom throughout the town. If the sale goes through, the project would be one of many in the area.
Village Mayor Jack Judge says he hopes the downtown makeover will continue to make Webster one of the fastest growing suburbs in Rochester.
“It should do wonders for us,” Judge said. “The Baumans have been very good coming out here. We had a wonderful interview with them, and our economy is flourishing now. With them, it will be better than ever.”
Several businesses have already settled in nicely in other developments off Holt and Hard roads. Webster Town Supervisor Ron Nesbitt says a Cold Stone Creamery should be moving in off Holt Road soon. In addition, the Wegmans across from Town Center Plaza plans to build a 45,420 square foot addition.
