Sabres sell out Winter Classic

sabres_logo2007-09-18-1190129661.jpgIt took the Sabres all of about twenty minutes to sell out their Winter Classic…the New Year's Day game to be played at Ralph Wilson Stadium against Pittsburgh.


Tickets went on sale at 10:00 this morning and were gone minutes later. About 45,000 tickets were up for grabs. Season ticket holders already had theirs and the league also put a hold on a few thousand. What this means is that 73,000 will attend the game in Orchard Park, an NHL record.


The previous high was set by the Edmonton Oilers two years ago when over 50,000 attended an outdoor game there.
