Rochester are investigating two shootings that happened in the city overnight.
22-year old Raymundo Rodriguez was shot multiple times near the corner of Roycroft Drive and North Street at about 3:30 Sunday morning. One resident told News8 she heard the gunshots.
“I looked out my window and saw all the cars and the people and I went and minded my own business. I was up wide awake then and maybe ten minutes after I was woken up thats when I heard gunshots, like, eight shots,” she told News8.
Police says there was a huge house party on the street that night. There trying to determine whether the party and the shootings are connected.
About an hour earlier police responded to a shooting in front of Salem United Church of Christ on Bittner Street.
Police say a 35-year old man was shot in the back after an argument between two groups of people. He was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
One unidentified east side city resident expressed frustration with the violence in the city.
“I would say we need some help. We need help right now. I mean, its not getting better, its getting worse. I mean, what are we going to get up to 40 or 50(homicides) before something is done? We need police presence like I say,” he told News8.
