Child run over and killed

A one year old boy was killed Friday night after accidentally being run over by an SUV driven by his father. Rochester Police say the tragedy happened around 7 Friday night on Dakota Street...off Jay Street on the city's west side. They say the boy's father was backing out of the driveway when he ran the boy over. The toddler was killed instantly. Police tell News 8 grief counselors are working with the family. Although the incident remains under investigation, they say it appears to be a tragic accident.
