Rochester police have made an arrest in an 11-year-old murder case. This past weekend, detectives charged Speady Spears, a homeless man, in connection with the stabbing death of 31-year-old Althea McFarland. Spears, a former boyfriend of the victim, had originally been a suspect when mcfarland was first found dead inside her Child Street home back in 1996. However, a lack of evidence at the time kept him from being charged. But now police say new forensic evidence has finally linked Spears to the killing.
