One of the defendants in a local case of nursing home neglect is scheduled to be in court today. Janell Thompson is one of 14 Jennifer Matthew Nursing Home employees charged in connection with the neglect of a 70-year-old patient with dementia. The other 13 employees involved have already plead guilty. Thompson faces charges of falsifying business records and willful violation of health law. The case came to light two and a half years ago after an investigation by the state attorney generals office.
