Sheriff charged in Seneca County

Seneca County Sheriff Leo Connolly and 4 other deputies have been indicted by a grand jury in an investigation into allegations of wrongdoing in the Seneca County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff Leo Connolly charged with falsifying documents, lying to the grand jury and official misconduct. Two former and two current deputies have been charged with petit larceny and the former Undersheriff James Larson has been charged with grand larceny
The investigation started after a suspicious fire at the former Seneca Army Depot in 2006. Fire ripped through a warehouse in the Seneca Army Depot in February of 2006. The building contained important equipment for the sheriff's department including a mobile command center, patrol boat and dozens of patrol cars.
Four sheriff's employees were put on administrative leave after the fire.
