bills-helmet2007-08-27-1188255994.JPGThe Bills made their first cuts of preseason, releasing six players today.

The most notable, wideout Donovan Morgan, who many thought had a decent shot to make the team.

Morgan made four catches for 41 yards in three Buffalo preseason games, but was a standout at St. John Fisher. At 6-2, he was also one of the few receivers at camp taller than six feet, frequently using his size to block out defenders on receptions.

Here are the other five players cut today, none really a surprise.

QB Kevin Eakin

LB Roy Manning

CB Reggie Lewis

CB Chris Thompson

P/K D.J. Fitzpatrick

The Bills must be down to 75 on the roster by Tuesday at 4pm, so the team will cut four more in the next 22 hours.
