Despite the fact that Senator Hillary Clinton could not be here for her presidential campaign fundraiser, hundreds of people lined the corner of the Water Street Music hall to hear her husband, former president Bill Clinton speak on her behalf.
Bill Clinton arrived at the Water Street Music Hall just before 3:30pm Monday to host the fundraiser.
He entered through the back of the hall while hundreds of campaign supporters lined the corner of Water Street and Cumberland Street. Some people traveled over an hour to see him speak. Some hoped he'd play his saxophone.
The local chapter of the AARP was there to promote their "Divided We Fail" campaign.
Members are pushing presidential hopefuls to improve the quality of our health care system, while others hoped the visit to Rochester is the first step in bringing more attention to the needs in western New York.
Sodus point resident Kathie Hynds says she "would like to see them put in a lot of money in western New York and our economy. Wayne County is the number one producer of apples and the state of New York. People don't recognize the Finger Lakes, the vineyards and we need to put more money into getting more people to visit this area."
Music could be heard pouring out of the Water Street Music Hall throughout the entire event. Once the event was over, Clinton hopped in a car and drove to Buffalo to host another fundraiser.
