NFL-logo2007-08-27-1188234337.jpgAtlanta owner Arthur Blank says quarterback Michael Vick is still a part of the Falcons.

Blank held a press conference today, on the heels of Vick's guilty plea in a Richmond, Virginia courtroom. The owner said while cutting Vick would have been a temporary fix, it would hurt the team in the long run. He said the signal-caller had betrayed many people with his connections to an illegal dogfighting operation and tarnished the organization.

Blank said the team would continue to move forward with other star players and continue to work on player development. He complimented NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's actions in the matter and said the team was working the ASPCA to raise awareness about animal cruelty.

Vick has been suspended indefinitely by the league and has a sentencing hearing scheduled for December 10th.
