Rochester police say they may have prevented several shootings after a major gun bust.
These illegal guns were recently seized after a three month investigation. Police targeted a known gang member who was dealing guns in the Jefferson Avenue
area. Undercover cops allegedly bought 13 guns from 17-year-old Terrance Johnson. He's now facing felony weapons charges."We've had much violence in that area and as a result of that violence, we targeted this particular individual because we knew he was trafficking in weapons," says Rochester Police Lt. Joe Morabito.
This year the Jefferson Avenue neighborhood has seen two homicides, including one just two days ago, also 13 aggravated assaults, nine robberies and one rape.
