Local dogs got a good cleaning and it benefited other dogs in the area. Dogs and their owners pawed their way into Companion Animal on West Henrietta Road Sunday afternoon to be washed for charity. Donations of $15 were taken for small dogs, $35 for large dogs.
"I think it's a tremendous way for our profession and our members to give back to our community. We are allowed to not only make a living, but have a satisfying career and this is one way that we repay the community that supports us," said Andy Fleming, President of the Genesee Valley Veterinary Medical Association.
The money raised is going to help Western New York's Search Dogs, a group that helped in the rescue efforts of September 11th, 2001.
