SYRACUSECURFEW2007-08-09-1186699174.jpgDuffy played host to the Syracuse city council Thursday. They’re considering a youth curfew - and came to get a first hand look of how it's working here.

It's been defeated before, but some Syracuse city council members want to try again for a youth curfew.

"This issue almost continually comes up at every neighborhood meeting I’m at, the concern about unsupervised youth in city neighborhoods," says Pat Hogan, of the Syracuse City Council.

They're reviewing how it's working in Rochester and taking back what they learned to Syracuse.

The goals are simple: protect young people and curb violence, but there are also concerns in Syracuse about stretching an already busy police force.

"The police department is already overworked, can they continue to add another level and what does that do to response times and what they have to do now," says Syracuse City Councilman Bill Ryan.

Syracuse council members say they're will be more talks before any curfew is put up for a vote.
