21-year-old Army Specialist Kevin Mowl, a native of Pittsford, was injured in Baghdad last week. A bomb exploded near his vehicle, and he suffered serious head trauma.

Today, he's in the thoughts of students and teachers at Rochester's School For The Deaf. His father, Dr. Howard Mowl is superintendent there, and Specialist Mowl was a regular visitor.CARDS4PITTSFORDSOLDIER22007-08-08-1186612652.jpg

Teacher Judy Cannioto says, "He came to visit our students before he left and made a wonderful impression on them and is just a really neat guy so when it hits so close to home the pain is especially deep."

Mowl was scheduled for surgery Wednesday to fix his left arm...the first of several surgeries to fix broken bones in his body.
