What began as a kid's dare, quickly became a nightmare for these teens. They dared each other to go into a vacant house at 698 Seward Street.
"First when we went up there and went up the stairs and then that's when we saw the stuff on the floor and when we got close to the front door we looked at this window, I think it's a front porch and when we looked in the window, it was laying there on the bed," said Winston Wilson, a 15-year-old teen who discovered the body.
It was the body of a man who Rochester police have yet to identify. One of the teens says the body was decomposing, a scary sight he won't soon forget.
"The skin of it was like strips, stuff was like in the strips eating it and it was purple like his face was burnt or something like that and we didn't so no other hand, we only saw one so we think it was off," said Wilson.
One neighbor who says he thinks he knew the man was shocked to hear his body was found down the street from his home.
"He never bothered nobody like that to me, from what I know him. He come up and down the street and stop and see his kids," said Jansen Jones, a neighbor.
"I've never seen a dead body before but I couldn't sleep last night I stayed up all night," said Wilson.
Police say it was an "unattended death" but they haven't released any other details. The case is still under investigation.
