A Connecticut native, Matt got his start in television in high school at Manchester High School. He also produced stories for FOX CT Student News, a nationally recognized program designed to give students real-world experiences in broadcast journalism. Matt went on to Boston University's College of Communication where he earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism before starting his career in Watertown, New York, as a reporter at WWTI, the ABC affiliate. After a year, he moved on to WETM, the NBC affiliate in Elmira, New York. There Matt launched Elmira's first and only 10 o'clock newscast. Matt covered major events like the launch of the Shuttle Discovery, which carried Elmira native Eileen Collins as NASA's first female shuttle commander and anchoring live breaking news coverage of the search and capture of convicted killer Ralph "Bucky" Phillips.
Matt's work has been recognized by the Syracuse Press Club and the New York State Associated Press. When he's not working, Matt can be found at the gym. He is a certified spinning instructor. Matt also has a Boston Terrier named Swarley. His name comes from an episode of the hit CBS show "How I Met Your Mother."
