Couple charged with string of robberies

An area couple have been charged with a string of area robberies News 8 told you about this past spring.

Karon Russell and Amanda Lowe were arraigned Monday on a 16 count indictment for robbery.  The couple, who are in their twenties, were charged in April for allegedly robbing the Famous Footwear store on Penfield Road.

Police said that the car matched a description, and that Lowe was behind the wheel.  When they pulled the car over, police found Russell in the trunk.  Two deputies recieved minor injuries during a brief struggle to take him into custody.
