Two Key Proposals Move Ahead in the Rochester City School District

Two key proposals are moving forward in the Rochester City School District. The first, involves tougher lead testing in city schools; only five of the citys 52 schools are lead-free. That measure, which has been sent to an audit committee, would force lead testing to happen on a regular basis, instead of only when theres a renovation. The second proposal is a plan to introduce an African-American curriculum in the district. That plan has been met with some controversy. It is set to be voted on at Thursdays board meeting.
