Fairy Godmothers Prom Fair 2007

The Fourth Annual "Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester Prom Fair" will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2007, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Riverside Convention Center in downtown Rochester, NY.
This year's Prom Fair is called "The Day of 2000 Dresses.
Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester have set a goal of collecting more that 2,000 dresses this year to offer the attendees a wide selection.
They are well on their way to attaining that goal, and hope to reach it with the help of local businesses and organizations sponsoring prom dress collections.
The Prom Fair is designed to supply qualified high school junior and senior girls with gowns and accessories to wear to their proms in the hopes that it will boost self-esteem and motivate the teens toward future success.
In addition to the specialized shopping experience, notable area women in business and the media will offer advice and career guidance throughout the day.
"We want to help girls have a positive prom experience," said Cynthia Jackson, co-founder of Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester.
"The gown is very important, but so is feeling good about yourself and what you can accomplish in the future."
This year, Sweet 16 Magazine, a national publication for teenage girls, will pay for the cost of prom tickets for one girl who attends the "Prom Fair."

Space is limited and certain criteria must be met for acceptance into the program. The deadline for registration is April 20th.
Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester (FGGR) is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to identify girls in the greater Rochester area who would like to attend their prom but may not have the financial resources to do so. FGGR is a division of the Philadelphia-based Fairy Godmothers organization.
