NYS Senate Votes To Remove Ban On Mixed Martial Arts

The State Senate has passed legislation to lift New York's ban on mixed martial arts.

The bill passed with a vote of 47-15. The proposal could bring professional competitions to the state, including the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A total of 47 states allow mixed martial arts right now, which is said to be the fastest growing sport in the U.S. The bill now moves on to the Assembly.
