Aquinas Comes From Behind Win Title

Navaar Poole scored 24 points as (3)Aquinas erased a seven point 4th quarter deficit to beat (1)Charlotte 64-55 in the Class A Sectional Final at Blue Cross Arena.

Down 50-43 with six minutes to play, Aquinas closed the game with a 21-6 run. Patrick McLamore's steal and layup gave the Lil' Irish the lead for good midway through the fourth.

George Graham supported with 13 points for AQ and Emanuel Bouie, Jr. added 10 with eight rebounds.

Aquinas held Charlotte to 5 of 30 shooting in the second half. The Lakesiders missed all 13 of their three-point attempts after halftime.

Kievonn Banks topped Charlotte with 21 points and Devaante Hagins chipped in with 12.

Aquinas will play next in the state quarterfinals Saturday, March 9th at Blue Cross Arena against the Class A representative from Buffalo's Section Six. Tip time is scheduled for 7pm.
