Spencerport 51, Churchville-Chili 47

The start of the 2012 football season could not any better for Spencerport. The Rangers went back-and-forth with Churchville-Chili before pulling out a 51-47 win at the Saints. Spencerport is now 2-0 to start a season for the first time since 2001.

Spencerport's Jake O'Connell put 18 carries for 216 yards and two touchdowns. Rangers QB Brian Gerringer threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns as well. Rob Williams had a total of 283 yards and three touchdowns (two receiving, one rushing).

Spencerport trailed early in the fourth quarter before a two yard touchdown from O'Connell put the Rangers up 54-41. After a defensive stop, O'Connell then capped off a 70 yard run with a touchdown to put Spencerport up 51-41 and they never looked back.

Chruchville-Chili falls to 0-2 with the loss. Josh Powell led the Saints with 277 yards rushing and three touchdowns. QB John Iacucci threw for 194 yards and three touchdowns.
