Stephon Gilmore may be a lot of things, but loud and bombastic are not characteristics of the former South Carolina cornerback. On Friday, Gilmore was introduced to the local media and spoke quietly but stated several times his desire to prove the Bills were right in selecting him 10th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft.
At South Carolina, Gilmore was a 3-year starter while starting 40 games for the Gamecocks. Playing in the talent-heavy SEC, Gilmore played against some of the top wide receivers in college football including Julio Jones and AJ Green who were both picked in the 1st round of last year's draft.
Gilmore has spent his entire life in South Carolina. He said during the press conference that he is not concerned with playing in cold weather. He remarked that his love of the game supersedes any weather conditions, even if they are different from the Southern warmth.
