Mario impact is big one for Bills

ORCHARD PARK, NY - The Buffalo Bills today announced that 1,400 new season tickets were purchased and over 4,000 season tickets were renewed since Thursday at 4:00 PM when the team announced the signing of free agent DE Mario Williams.
"It's been an exciting week for our organization and Bills fans everywhere," Bills Chief Executive Officer Russ Brandon said. "The recent increase in new season ticket sales and ticket renewals along with the traffic numbers on our social media platforms continues to highlight the passion of our fan base."
The 1,400 new season ticket sales mark the most in a two-day timeframe since 2002 when the team sold 1,285 new season tickets in one week.
BuffaloBills.com and the team's social media outlets also saw record numbers:
  • More than 6,000 people have signed up to inquire about the new Mario Williams Nike jersey
  • More than 3,700 Facebook users have entered a contest to win a signed Williams football
  • BuffaloBills.com registered nearly 3 million page views on Thursday and Friday
  • BuffaloBills.com streamed Thursday's press conference live to 12,000 visitors
The Bills Mobile App had its most traffic ever and has over 89,000 downloads to date since being launched in September of 2011
The Bills now have 453,400 social media follows on Facebook and Twitter and added over 3,200 Facebook fans and nearly 4,000 Twitter followers since the start of free agency on March 13th
Over 27,000 fans participated in a live chat during Thursday's press conference on BuffaloBills.com - five times more than any previous chat on the team's website
