Waterloo Decimated In State Final

Ryan McMahon scored 26 points as Irvington stunned Waterloo with a 78-40 rout in the Class B state finals Saturday afternoon at Hudson Valley Community College.

Lindsay Johnson led the Indians with 15 points.

Irvington scored the first seven points of the game and led 24-4 early in the second quarter. Waterloo was down 18 at the half, but opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run to get within 41-29.

However, Irvington finished the third quarter on a 25-4 run and led 66-33 heading to the fourth. The 4th quarter was only about filling out the scoresheet.

Waterloo finishes the season 23-2.
