McQuaid's run through the state playoffs ends one win away from their first state title since 2005. For Saratoga, it's their second state championship after wnning the title back in 1999.
The scoring started early for Saratoga. Six minutes into the game, Ryan Flynn had a breakaway for Saratoga but was brought down by Omer Savoie, setting up a penalty shot that Flynn converted through McQuaid goalie Brian Kick's legs. The offense continued from there for Saratoga when Ryan Flynn scored his second goal on a 2-on-1 pass from his brother Matt late in the first period.
McQuaid struggled all game long to muster an attack and Saratoga dominated from start to finish. Nick Winters tallied a power play goal early in the second period to make it 3-0 Blue Streaks. Midway through the second, Ryan Flynn took off on a breakaway after a perfect pass from Matt Flynn. Kick stopped Ryan's shot, but couldn't keep Matt's second chance offering from finding the back of the net.
Saratoga scored their fifth and final goal in the third period when Matt Flynn poked home a rebound through King's legs.
The Blue Streaks end the season with a 22-3-1 record, while McQuaid finishes 19-6-1.
