The U.S. Coast Guard was called to action in Greece Sunday for an ice rescue on Long Pond.

Lakeshore Firefighters say three men were on some kind of water craft, left their equipment in the water and decided to test the ice. That's when they fell in.

Two were treated and released at the scene. Another was transported to the hospital for possible hypothermia. A firefighter is being treated for a back injury.

Firefighters say March is a tricky month, and no ice is safe. James O'Coin with the Lakeshore Fire District said "The ponds might not be deep but what you have is, number one, the water is very very cold. So, you get that initial shock of going in the water, you're going to have hypothermia. The pond base is all muck. At that point, you're just struggling to get out. The harder you struggle, the deeper you're going to get yourself into it."

This is the second water rescue this weekend. Crews pulled two fishermen from the icy waters on Saturday afternoon.
