Canandaigua Girls Cruise to Section V Class B Lacrosse Title

Thanks to junior attack Dakotah Savitcheff's five second half goals, the Canandaigua Braves powered their way to a Section V Class B title, winning 15-9 over Irondequoit.

The Braves held a 6-4 lead at halftime and saw their lead cut to one soon after play resumed before a 5-1 scoring burst.

Midfielder Lauren D'Amore, who had four goals, while Jordan Johnson added two goals and two assists for Canandaigua. Macy Marafioti and Kendall D'Amore each tallied a goal and two assists.

For the Eagles, Lauren Gerrie and Jourdan Roemer led the charge with three goals each. Lisa Rogers also chipped in two goals.

The Braves (16-3) next play Hamburg of Section VI in the state quarterfinals on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Buffalo's All-High Stadium.
