Melo Not With Orange On Road Trip

Fab Melo did not make the road trip with his Syracuse teammates to South Bend this weekend and will not play Saturday against Notre Dame or Monday at Cincinnati.
A statement released by the University today did not give a reason for Melo's absence, but multiple reports say it's due to academic reasons. Melo's return is indefinite, but Syracuse is hopeful the matter can be resolved before the next men's basketball game against West Virginia on January 28th.
Reportedly, Melo's issue stems from the first semester of the Syracuse school year. The second semester began Tuesday. Therefore, the discipline did not begin until this weekend.
In addition, Mookie Jones has decided to leave Syracuse University for personal reasons and is now off the basketball team. Jones did tweet that he will be back next year, assumably, to the school and the basketball team.
