Reported by: WROC-TV Monday, May 4, 2009 @11:50am EDT Rochester may be the Flower City, but it's also a Tree City, and we're doing our part to keep it that way.
News 8/Fox Rochester and Finger Lakes Community College planted trees Monday in the Corn Hill neighborhood of Rochester. It's part of our Rooting for Rochester campaign. Three flowering crab trees were planted near the new Troop Street playground west of Ford Street. "We've planted three Flowering Crabs that will soon bloom and beautify this neighborhood," said David Stettner of Salmon Creek Nursery. "We are happy to be part of this effort to beautify our planet and be an example to others of what can happen when we work together," said Joseph Naim of FLCC. 175 flower bulbs were also planted in honor of Rochester's 175th anniversary celebration. Helping with that were members of the University of Rochester's Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. |
